I like Wil Myers, and still believe he could "break out". Expect to hear his name often this hot-stove season as Preller explores all his options, from upgrading Myers’ spot on the roster to addressing the deficiencies in on-base percentage throughout the lineup." Neither of them are going anywhere anytime soon, but Myers could find his way out the door, depending on how much of his contract the Padres are willing to eat in a trade. Preller one-upped Myers’ record-breaking extension by handing out $444 million the following two seasons to 1B Eric Hosmer and 3B Manny Machado. "The Padres owe Wil Myers $60 million over the next three seasons, arguably the biggest roadblock to addressing the rotation shortcomings via free agency. Then again, Trammell isn't on the 40 man, and Olivares is. 283/.349 and speed is something that the Padres still don't have locked down. Last, looking over that whole list, I don't see how a guy Olivares could be moved. Or, these pieces could be something that makes Myers contract more palatable for a few teams. Depends, of course, on who's coming back in the deal. This list might even include Cordero, Morejon, or Castillo. Some rebuilding team might make a deal taking the "up side" on some of these guys. I'm not sure that there's room to keep long term injured guys like Espinoza or Diaz on the 40 man for the long term. I also think it's possible that AJP will make some "damaged" goods swaps. (For example, if the decision comes down to Jank or Cordero, who do the Padres move, and how?)

Even then, these are guys "on the bubble" who maybe gone due to a full roster, because there's no way to clear them off the 40 man. I think all of the "less likely" category guys are gone, except maybe Carl Edwards, Jr., and Jank. I don't agree with Acee's player placements in certain categories (and I'm sure no one here does).
